Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring a TX or compact license, 2 years of acute care experience, and multiple certifications.
Responsibilities
Position is in a hospital PACU setting supporting surgical services
Care is provided to pediatric through geriatric patients in the post-anesthesia phase
Assignments are 13 weeks, with 8-hour day shifts starting at 6am and overtime as needed
Schedule consists of five 8-hour shifts per week, including call one to two weekdays and every other weekend
Responsibilities include assisting with surgical equipment, monitoring patients, and supporting the perioperative team
Role involves direct patient care and communication with the surgical team throughout procedures
Monitors patient status, positions, and assists as necessary during perioperative care
Supports maintenance and readiness of surgical equipment and inventory
Demonstrates knowledge appropriate to the age range of patients served
Dress code or scrubs must comply with hospital policy
Requirements
Active TX or compact RN license required; pending licenses not accepted
Minimum two years of recent acute care RN experience in a US hospital required
Expertise in Operating Room and PACU required
Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS (AHA only), and CPI
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
US Social Security Number required for consideration
Two manager or supervisor references preferred, with at least one from the most recent employer
