Sage Infusion
Sage Infusion is looking for a patient-focused Infusion Nurse Practitioner to join a rising healthcare startup. This is a full time position that will be based in Tampa, FL. As a retail infusion center managed exclusively by NP, you will be the key provider responsible for Infusion medical treatment, response management, and post care for patients after receiving a physician order. In addition, the Infusion NP will administer and monitor patients in our premises during treatment and provide the necessary education on treatment regimen, condition management, and treatment side‑effects when appropriate. The Infusion NP is an integral member of a multi‑disciplinary team and will work closely with other staff. This position will be full time, four days in clinic and one day work from home.
Major Responsibilities:
Initiates and implements nursing plan of treatments; evaluating patient progress towards goals. Organizes and participates in the provision of direct patient care, performs treatments, administers medications, and educates patients and families/caregivers. Modifies plan of treatment in response to changing patient status or physician orders to achieve established or revised patient care goals.
Assesses patient needs and physical status at each visit through health data access and patient interview. Re‑evaluates patient needs through physical reassessment, response to therapy, and supplemental physician orders. Clarifies physician orders for plan of treatment revisions, informs physician promptly of significant changes in patient's condition, and provides written summary to physician within supplemental order.
Provides effective and safe teaching using patient‑centered care approach for patient and family to achieve independence with prescribed therapy and care needs through active participation per plan of treatment goals.
Effectively and timely communicates with internal clinical team, medical providers, patients and families/caregivers to facilitate continuity of care. Prepares clinical documentation in real‑time during visits and signs‑off on treatment to comply with established time lines for billing optimization.
Demonstrates compliance with internal policies and procedures, professional standards, local, state, federal regulations/guidelines, and accreditation standards.
Responds promptly and appropriately to patient needs. Initiates emergency procedures as necessary.
Accepts accountability for own practice through ethical and professional conduct. Follows established programs and practice within policies and procedures reflective of Sage Infusion’s mission, values and objectives.
Observes legal and ethical guidelines for safeguarding the confidentiality of patient and proprietary Sage Infusion information including adherence to HIPAA regulations.
Speaks knowledgeably about Sage Infusion’s scope of services.
Completes required training modules, in‑services, and continuing education to maintain competency and professional license for demonstrated knowledge regarding the care and management of patients in a retail setting. Participates in multidisciplinary team conferences and provides mentoring to other nurses for orientation and supervisory activities as assigned. Effectively provides oversight and coordination of paraprofessionals.
Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor
Requirements Licensed/Experience
Licensed professional who specializes in infusion therapy and the administration of biologics and other necessary medications, intravenously
Subject to license verification, criminal background check and drug screening
Licensed to practice as Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in Florida
Compliance with continuing and mandatory education
Practices nursing within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of Florida
IV experience is mandatory
Credentialed with insurance payors is required
BLS required, ACLS preferred
ER experience is highly preferred
Ability to speak Spanish is highly preferred
