Holocaust Survivor Case Worker (Russian Speaking)

Job Description: We are seeking a
Russian-speaking Case Worker
to provide trauma-informed, patient-centered support to Holocaust survivors aging in place. This role includes comprehensive case management, financial assistance processing, benefits navigation, crisis intervention, and collaboration with partner agencies. The ideal candidate is warm, empathetic, culturally sensitive, and committed to delivering high-quality services to a vulnerable population with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide trauma-informed, holistic case management services including financial assistance, benefits applications, and referrals
Support clients in both home settings and at the main office
Organize and assist with socialization events for Holocaust survivors
Collaborate with partner agencies serving survivor communities
Complete applications for assistance and maintain accurate electronic records, including Salesforce entries
Document all client interactions in accordance with program standards and timelines
Participate in weekly supervision and bimonthly team meetings
Work effectively with other program staff as part of a multidisciplinary team
Deliver presentations about the program to partnering organizations
Manage a large and diverse caseload while maintaining high-quality service delivery
Address client crises with professionalism, calm, and appropriate interventions
Uphold ethical case management practices that balance client needs and program requirements
Perform other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS, or BSW)
Fluency in Russian required
Minimum 2 years of experience in case management with older adults; experience with Holocaust survivors or trauma-impacted communities strongly preferred
Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and the needs of aging populations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management databases such as Salesforce
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain strong organization and documentation practices
Excellent communication skills, patience, and professionalism
Sensitivity to cultural, religious, and historical backgrounds, with willingness to seek guidance when needed
Special Requirements:
Willingness to travel throughout the five boroughs of New York City via public transportation
