Histology Technician II (West County) - Dermatology

* Prepares histology sections by processing tissue and embedding, cutting, and staining prepared sections.* Performs special techniques such as immunohistochemical techniques and stains and cutting of frozen tissue.* Prepares and changes solutions and reagents.* Performs general maintenance of laboratory equipment.* Maintains supply and chemical inventories.* Cleans and prepares staining set and conducts quality control.* Performs record keeping and clerical support functions.* Assists supervisor with other duties and special projects as needed.* Equivalent of two years college education in biology, chemistry, clinical laboratory science or medical laboratory technology.* HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) certification.* Up to 22 days of vacation, 10 recognized holidays, and sick time.* Competitive health insurance packages with priority appointments and lower copays/coinsurance.* Take advantage of our free Metro transit U-Pass for eligible employees.* WashU provides eligible employees with a defined contribution (403(b)) Retirement Savings Plan, which combines employee contributions and university contributions starting at 7%.* WashU covers the cost of tuition for you and your family, including dependent undergraduate-level college tuition up to 100% at WashU and 40% elsewhere after seven years with us.Yes.
