Immediate Travel Nurse Opening – Pediatric Operating Room RN – Chapel Hill, NC
We're looking for Pediatric Operating Room RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Chapel Hill, NC. The right RN will have at least 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience. Read below for more requirements.
Pediatric Operating Room RNs will perform minor medical operations, advise patients and families on illnesses or injuries, and plan long‑term care needs. Other responsibilities of a Pediatric OR Travel Nurse include documenting medical history, checking for any allergies the patients might have, obtaining patients' vital signs, and monitoring patients' emotional and physical well‑being.
As a Pediatric OR Travel Nurse, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:
Assist with moving and positioning of patient.
Manage care of patient in the OR according to hospital policy.
Ensure all patient paperwork is completed prior to procedure.
Watch for signs and symptoms of impaired gas exchange related to anesthesia.
Remain by the patient's side until anesthesia has been successfully induced.
Pediatric OR Travel Nurses should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty. RNs should be able to easily lift 20 pounds. Moving or lifting patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at a time. RNs may face hazards from exposure to certain chemicals or infectious diseases in the operating room environment.
Requirements:
BLS, 2 Years
Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
