The Behavioral Health Technician I plays a hands-on, meaningful role in supporting individuals on their recovery journey by providing direct care, structure, and encouragement in a safe and therapeutic environment. · Provide direct supervision, support, and oversight of clients to ensure safety, structure, and engagement in daily programming

· Monitor client health needs including vital signs, withdrawal symptoms, and general wellness, escalating concerns to medical or clinical staff when needed

· Support admissions, transfers, and discharges by assisting with orientations, safety searches, documentation, and initial health screenings

· Encourage positive behavior and adherence to program expectations using trauma-informed and solution-focused approaches

· Prepare for and facilitate group education, recovery skills, rehabilitative support, and structured activities as assigned

· Assist clients with daily living activities, personal care, and skill-building when needed

· Monitor and document client behavior, progress, and significant events in the electronic medical record within required timeframes

· Support medication processes by following medication administration policies and collaborating with trained nursing staff

· Conduct supervision checks, bed checks, and precaution monitoring according to program and safety plans

· Facilitate urine collection, testing, and lab documentation per policy and procedure

· Provide transportation for clients to appointments and approved activities when required

· Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly

· Participate as an active member of the treatment team, communicating client needs, strengths, and concerns

· Attend required meetings, trainings, and ongoing education to remain compliant with regulatory standards

· Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership**Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:**

· High School Diploma or equivalent required with two (2) years of responsible employment

· Experience in human services or a related field preferred

· Bachelor’s Degree or MAADC I or II may qualify for select St. Louis County programs

· Ability to meet program-specific credentialing requirements, including Level 1 Med Aid (LIMA) and Insulin Certification for Residential Care Facilities within required timeframes**Additional Qualifications:**

· Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age to operate a company-owned vehicle

· Must be at least twenty-three (23) years of age to operate a company-owned fifteen (15) passenger van

· Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and current auto insurance

· Successful completion of required background checks including criminal, driving, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks

· Ability to complete First Aid, CPR, Medication Administration, and Behavioral Management training within designated timeframes

· Basic computer and keyboarding skills with ability to document in an electronic medical record

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to establish rapport with clients while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries

· Knowledge of confidentiality laws governing behavioral health and substance use treatment

· Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, structured environments and respond appropriately to crisis situations**Physical Requirements:**

ADA Consideration – Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull objects. Requires repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and writing throughout the work shift.
