Job Summary
The Process Improvement Co-Op will support manufacturing operations at an industrial roller and insulation manufacturing facility by identifying, analyzing, and improving production processes on the shop floor. This role provides hands‑on exposure to real‑world manufacturing challenges while working closely with engineering, production, and quality teams. The co‑op will contribute to initiatives that enhance safety, efficiency, quality, and throughput.
Key Responsibilities
Observe and analyze production floor processes to identify inefficiencies, waste, and improvement opportunities
Assist with process improvement projects focused on safety, quality, cost, and delivery
Support data collection, time studies, and workflow analysis
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, 5S, Kaizen, or Six Sigma activities
Help develop and update standard work instructions, process documentation, and visual aids
Collaborate with production operators, supervisors, and engineers to implement improvements
Track and report results of implemented process changes
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field) or a similar technical program
Strong interest in manufacturing and process improvement
Basic understanding of Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles (preferred)
Ability to work on the production floor in an industrial environment
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis
