Healthcare Benefits and Finance Advocate – Marienville, PA
LECOM at Snyder Memorial, a part of the LECOM Institute for Successful Living, is accepting applications and resume submissions for a Full Time Healthcare Benefits and Finance Advocate position. This will be an on-site position, located at 156 Snyder Memorial Road.
Responsibilities Accounts Payable Functions
Review vendor statements, code invoices, distribute to department heads and Administrator their review and approval, and forward to Home Office for payment.
Accounts Receivable Functions
Insurance verification.
Maintain records of resident room, level of care, and ancillary charges.
Update the daily census activity on the Census tracking log.
Gather census information from admissions and reported changes during the morning “stand up” meeting.
Ensure patient days and payers match; issues requiring follow up should be noted on the Census tracking log and resolved within 24 hours.
Collect and deposit checks, record payments, and forward to the Richter.
Record payments on the Daily Cash Receipt log and upload scanned copies of checks to the corporate network shared drive.
Forward ancillary charges to the CBO and notify vendors of new admissions with required information.
Fax or email updated census information to ancillary service vendors weekly.
Review each invoice for billing accuracy and confirm resident services match date ranges.
Analyze late charges and adjustments, identify and highlight residents with late charges, and notify Billing Specialist.
Scan and save copies of vendor invoices on the corporate shared drive; forward originals to accounts payable for payment processing.
Refer Medicaid pending residents to the Medicaid team.
Conduct monthly AR account reviews with the Administrator and monthly Triple Check meetings.
Assist in resolving customer financial disputes and perform timely reporting for month‑end close.
Enter cash receipts, reconcile accounts, collect and resolve difficult accounts, and handle third‑party billing including Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance companies.
Resident Trust Functions
Maintain petty cash and resident funds.
Monitor cash flow and resident balances.
Make bank deposits as needed and dispense funds to residents as requested.
Payout monthly room and board and vendor payments.
Reconcile accounts monthly.
Skills
Knowledge of human resource/payroll procedures and accounting procedures.
Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing requirements.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi‑task.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with residents, resident families, and vendors.
3–5 years of experience with nursing home billing.
Proficient with standard office equipment and basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Ability to interpret and apply departmental procedures and problem‑solve as appropriate.
