Job Summary:
With an emphasis on co-occurring issues, provide screening assessment, counseling and treatment planning to children/adolescents and adults, facilitate weekly individual, family and group sessions, provide individual and family intervention, collaborate on prevention activities in the community/school, assist with day-to-day operations of the Behavioral Health Program at the Oonalaska Wellness Center (OWC) in Unalaska following high standards of ethics. Hours of work 7.5 per day, 5 days per week, will provide 24 hour on-call services for crisis/emergencies rotating with other clinicians. Maintain up-to-date documentation per APIA Behavioral Health policy, includes AKAIMS data entry and use of electronic health records. Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, human services or other related field preferred, plus at least one year of experience in substance treatment. Professional licensure required or must be eligible to obtain within 2 years of hire. Must be eligible to be certified as a chemical dependency counselor (CDCI). Knowledge of federal confidentiality regulations and requirements. Willingness and means to travel. Good working knowledge of basic English grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation. Interest, knowledge and sensitivity to the Native lifestyle and culture. Willing to take training and attend workshops and meetings periodically to enhance job performance and knowledge.
