Role: Integral part of the Leadership Team that manages the day‑to‑day operations of the Wellness component of the community to ensure the maximum levels of resident functional ability, safety and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
Perform continuous, ongoing supervision of all Wellness Department team members, including but not limited to recruiting, retaining, training, disciplining, counseling, motivating, scheduling and evaluating; establishes and builds rapport among team members to facilitate teamwork.
Observe patients/residents under treatment to identify progress, side‑effects of medications, etc.; Monitor and record vital signs; Administers prescribed medications, injections, wound care, collect lab samples and other basic medical care tasks; Provides assistance as necessary with activities of daily living.
Coordinates and implements regularly scheduled wellness meetings; ensures compliance of Wellness Department relative to federal, state, local and company regulations and policies.
Maintain liaison role by ensuring effective communication with other members of the team, residents, families and medical professionals.
Responsible for reporting on operation of Wellness Department to ensure continuity of care; keeps department on budget within established guidelines and submits recommendations for budget completion, equipment and supplies; participates in multidisciplinary Quality Assurance Practices.
Requirements
Current NJ RN license, in good standing (Required).
Previous experience in Senior living.
BLS Certification (Preferred, Not Required).
Previous management experience in healthcare or service‑related setting (Preferred).
Familiarity with senior care health, safety, and sanitation standards and procedures.
Knowledge of all applicable governmental regulations.
Knowledge of the physiology and psychology of the older adult.
