Job Description The Medical Day Care Unit is a multipurpose ambulatory unit designed to support medical day care procedures and outpatient activity. The CDU is an extension of the Emergency Department for 24‑hour observation patients. The CDU provides care to patients who need more testing and observation in order to determine treatment setting, and are expected to be discharged or admitted within 24 hours.
Responsibilities
Complete assessments, administer medications/treatments, observe patient’s progress and evaluate therapies for clinical outcomes and effectiveness
Collaborate with physicians and other medical professionals to develop an optimal health care strategy plan for each patient
Support and educate patients and their loved ones to achieve maximum outcomes
36 hours a week, Day shift, every other weekend and holiday rotation required.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Basic Life Support (BLS) required
ACLS preferred
Telemetry and Cardiac Monitoring experience preferred
Pay Range $36.00 - $79.12
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
