Travel Nurse RN – Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma
Winfield, KS – $1,894 per week (13‑week contract). Nights: 3 days x 12‑hour shifts. Start date: ASAP. About the Position
Travel Nurse Source is partnering with Magnet Medical to fill a travel RN position in the ER/Trauma unit of a Level 1 trauma center in Winfield, KS. The RN will provide critical care to patients in urgent or emergent conditions, working in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities
Triage and patient assessment – perform initial evaluations, collect vital signs, and prioritize care. Emergency care and treatment – administer medications, fluids, wound care, CPR, ACLS, and trauma interventions as needed. Collaboration with the medical team – work with physicians, nurses, and lab/imaging staff to develop and implement care plans. Monitoring and documentation – continuously monitor vitals, document accurately in the EHR, and ensure compliance with regulations. Patient and family communication – explain diagnoses, procedures, and discharge instructions, providing emotional support. Infection control and safety – use PPE, maintain a sterile environment, and respond to biohazardous situations. Crisis management – manage high‑stress emergencies, keeping calm while delivering life‑saving interventions. Patient discharge and follow‑up – provide discharge instructions and educate patients on preventive measures. Teamwork and mentorship – collaborate with ER staff and mentor new nurses, students, and less experienced staff. Requirements
BLS certification Competency exam Valid RN license Experience in an ER/Trauma setting (preferred)
