Job Description
Salary: $45 - $60 Hourly DOE
About the Role Schoolhouse Staffing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide coverage at Lukancic Middle School during a staff member’s leave of absence. This full‑time, school‑based position offers the opportunity to support middle school students and collaborate with a highly supportive special education team.
This assignment is ideal for SLPs who are passionate about improving student communication outcomes through individualized and culturally responsive services.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct speech and language evaluations and create individualized treatment plans
Provide direct therapy services (individual and group) targeting articulation, language, fluency, and pragmatic communication.
Collaborate with teachers, families, and special education staff to align therapy goals with student IEPs and classroom strategies.
Monitor progress, document outcomes, and adjust interventions as needed
Attend and contribute to IEP meetings
Maintain compliance with state and federal requirements, including ISBE guidelines
Qualifications
Masters degree in Speech‑Language Pathology or related field
Valid Illinois SLP license (IDFPR)
ASHA CCC‑SLP preferred (CFs with intense supervision will be considered)
Previous school‑based experience preferred
Strong knowledge of IEP development and documentation
Excellent interpersonal skills, cultural competence, and commitment to student growth
