Trauma Registrar - 14379 at Penn Highlands Healthcare
Responsibilities The Trauma Registrar is responsible for maintaining efficient operation of the trauma patient registry, ensuring consistency and quality in data collection, and maintaining compliance with Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation data requests.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited record technician program or Associate's Degree in a Healthcare Related field
Evidence of continuing education related to the trauma registry (8 hours annually or 24 hours over 3 years)
2-3 years experience of coding and/or abstracting
Demonstrate knowledge of medical record content, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology
Prior experience with ICD-10 coding
Completion of Trauma Registrar Course and Association of the Advancement of Automotive Medical Injury Scoring Course within 1 year of hire
Within 6 months of hire complete an ICD Course with refresher course every 5 years (certificate evidence)
Abbreviated Injury Scoring (AIS) preferred
Experience in computer data entry, databases and data retrieval (preferred)
