Position Details

Location: South Florida Baptist Hospital – Medical/Surgical ICU – Plant City, Florida

Status: Full Time

Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Every other weekend requirement

On Call: No

Always in person

This position may be available for the Critical Care Internship Program; however, availability is subject to change based on current openings and staffing capacity

Requirements

RN (Registered Nurse) License

Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing

2 years' RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting

BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association

ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – ICU Responsibilities And Skills

Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards

Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team

Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care

Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments

Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition

Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients

Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge

High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
