Key Responsibilities
Assist in the implementation of treatment plans developed by the physical therapist to address patients' specific rehabilitation goals and functional needs.
Lead patients through prescribed exercises and therapeutic activities designed to enhance their physical function and promote recovery. Instruct patients on proper exercise techniques, monitor their progress, and provide feedback to ensure safe and effective participation.
Ensure the proper application of various treatment modalities, monitor patient responses, and adjust treatment parameters as necessary to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
Educate patients and their families on injury prevention strategies, proper body mechanics, and techniques for managing pain and discomfort.
Monitor patients' responses to treatment interventions, documenting progress and any changes in functional status or treatment tolerance. Communicate regularly with the supervising physical therapist, providing updates on patient progress and collaborating on adjustments to the treatment plan as needed.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Degree in an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
Current license/certification in the state of practice
