The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure manufacturing equipment, facilities, and utilities operate safely, reliably, and cost-effectively. This role places strong emphasis on project schedule adherence, maintenance budgeting, and cost control while supporting production goals, minimizing downtime, and maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Supervise, schedule, and assign work to maintenance technicians in the most logical combinations (mechanical, electrical, and/or facilities) to meet daily operational and project timelines.
Train, coach, and evaluate maintenance personnel; communnicate performance expectations and accountability standards.
Maintain accurate equipment records, maintenance logs, work orders, and project documentation (CMMS preferred).
Ensure compliance with safety regulations (OSHA), company safety policies, and lockout/tagout procedures.
Manage, monitor, and control the maintenance, repair, and rebuild budgets; monitor labor, parts, and contractor costs against targets.
Plan and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
Coordinate maintenance activities with production, engineering, and quality teams to minimize operational disruptions.
Troubleshoot equipment failures and lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and long-term reliability improvements.
Manage spare parts inventory, tools, and maintenance supplies; evaluate usage trends and recommend stocking levels to control costs.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or trade certification preferred.
5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Demonstrated experience managing maintenance budgets, schedules, and projects.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial controls (PLC experience a plus).
Ability to read and interpret schematics, manuals, project schedules, and technical drawings.
Strong leadership, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
