At our Plansee site in Franklin, USA, we transform semi‑finished molybdenum and tungsten products into complex components, leveraging decades of precision manufacturing and engineering excellence.
Responsibilities
Study work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, and machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Operate primary and high‑end machinery, including setup and complete program understanding with editing ability to produce complex, non‑routine parts and components.
Perform assignments involving machining of surfaces at unusual or compound angles, items requiring different or compound indexing, multiple lead and various non‑standard screw threads, helical or other types of gears or worm threads, or surfaces with closely interrelated dimensions or complex configurations that usually require special adaptation or extension of conventional machine tools.
Perform machining operations on CNC machine tools, including shop floor programming, multiple setups, in‑place machining of fixtures, debugging first‑run programs and making or suggesting changes to machine tool programs.
Qualifications
CNC Machinist Level 3 or 4
Experience with Okuma Multus B300/B400 MIll‑turns and standard Okuma CNC lathes
Ability to set up and operate standard lathes and mill‑turn machines
Contribute to multi‑machine operation
Understand blueprints and GD&T
Fluent in using all types of measuring equipment—from hand tools to CMM and optical comparators
Read and understand G and M codes
Perform simple program edits as needed; set up complex jobs using work instructions or guides
Strong attention to detail, effective communication, and teamwork skills
