Intermediate Lab Technician 1 (Production Lab Testing) This role is part of our Land O’Lakes, Inc., Purina Animal Nutrition business helping our network of local cooperatives, independent dealers and other large retailers serve producers and animal owners throughout the United States. Through industry‑leading R&D and committed partnerships, we innovate the nutrition products and practices that unlock the full potential of every animal for a healthier, more productive life.

As a Lab Technician, you will perform routine testing, prepare samples, and operate analytical equipment while maintaining a clean, organized laboratory environment. You will accurately record data, calibrate instruments, and work closely with quality and production teams to ensure results meet regulatory and internal standards.

Schedule & Compensation Shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday‑Friday. Occasional overtime may be required depending on production or lab needs.

Pay: $22.70 per hour.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED and 1+ laboratory experience or chemistry background.

Strong written and oral communication skills, self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Able to interpret results of testing for accuracy, reasonableness, compliance with specifications, and to perform simple problem‑solving tasks.

Able to execute with focus and accountability, lead and embrace change, and demonstrate agility.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s degree in a science‑related field.

Experience working with NIR or LECO systems and wet chemistry testing.

Laboratory experience in the dairy or animal food industry.

Physical Requirements

Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing, and other active movements.

Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment.

Candidate will likely spend 75% or more of the shift on their feet performing tests and inspections.
