Job Summary Under the direct supervision of the House Supervisor, according to hospital policies and procedures, the RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for assigned patients.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years recent experience in two areas of hospital nursing patient care.

Associate degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s degree preferred).

Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice or holds an active compact license. If licensed in a state other than Texas, must apply for a Texas RN license within 60 days of hire and obtain it within 6 months.

Current BLS certification per St. David’s Healthcare Policy.

Annual NIHSS certification per St. David’s Healthcare Policy.

Current ACLS/ALS for Healthcare Providers per St. David’s Healthcare Policy.

For registered nurses caring for stroke patients: maintain annual NIHSS, complete 8‑hour stroke education per year, and complete the mandatory stroke core measure module on Health Stream.

Certification in an area of specialty is preferred.
