This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Patrick B. Harris Psychiatric Hospital, 130 SC-252, Anderson, SC 29621.

Responsibilities for the Building/Grounds Specialist II:

Provide floor cleaning and maintenance services, including mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming.

Clean and sanitize bathroom facilities, including fixtures, floors and walls. Replenish supply of paper products and soap for all bathrooms.

Clean patient rooms and living areas, including care of beds, furniture and upholstery.

Empty trash cans in patient units, office areas and common areas. Clean trash cans both inside and out. Transport trash to waste compactor according to established procedures.

Clean windows and glass doors. Spot clean window treatments as needed.

Move office furniture and patient furniture when necessary for cleaning tasks and setup and takedown for events.

Identify maintenance needs and report them to immediate supervisor.

Experience in custodial, housekeeping or pest control work that is directly related to the area of employment.

Additional Requirements

The ability to bend, stoop, push, pull, lift heavy objects up to fifty (50) pounds and have manual dexterity.

Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Post hire, employee must:

Maintain competencies in job-related activities such as: MANDT, Hazardous Waste, Blood borne Pathogens, Universal Precautions, and other trainings.
