Mental Health and Addiction Counselor
Hickory House Recovery is seeking a qualified Mental Health and Addiction Counselor to provide evidence-based individual, group, and family therapy for clients with substance use and behavioral health challenges.
Primary Purpose And Function Candidates must be trained in anxiety and mood disorders and provide individual, group, and family therapies. Experience in DBT, EMDR, Trauma, CBT, and MI are highly desirable. Therapists will treat a selected caseload of female and male clients with substance abuse and behavioral health issues. Clinicians must perform bio‑psychosocial assessments, participate in multi‑disciplinary treatment, discharge planning, and maintain close communication with families and referents.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree and current Indiana license (LCAC, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LAC, LMHC‑A, LSW, MSW) or license‑eligible
At least 2 years prior experience in a behavioral healthcare setting, residential treatment preferred
Specialization in Mood Disorders, Anxiety, Addiction, Eating Disorders
Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
Professional appearance, aptitude, and attitude
Impeccable ethics, integrity, and customer relations skills
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
Computer literacy and EMR usage proficiency
Knowledge of best practice behavioral medicine treatment delivery
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Provision of individual, group, and family therapy
Timely and complete medical record documentation
Bio‑psychosocial assessment and Master treatment plan development
Discharge planning and participation in multi‑disciplinary treatment team
Participation in clinical on‑call rotation and peer review process
Adherence to facility policy, state & federal law, and CARF accreditation regulations
In‑service education for staff as requested
