The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview The Respiratory Therapist will provide respiratory care services to patients in all areas of the hospital. The Respiratory Therapist will also maintain and monitor mechanical ventilation, provide emergency airway management as ordered and perform arterial/capillary pH blood gas sampling and analysis.

Qualifications Required:

Graduate of a National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) School for Respiratory care

Knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care as described in the scope of services for Respiratory Care Practitioner

Ability to follow directions accurately, organize and accomplish work as assigned

Good communication skills to work collaboratively with patients, visitors and Medical team

Computer skill EPIC EMR

Preferred:

Two to three years of Adult critical care, neonatal/pediatric experience preferred.

Certifications and Licenses Required

Registered (RRT) or Registry Eligible (CRT) Respiratory Therapist as defined by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)

Active New Jersey State License to practice Respiratory Therapy

BLS certification required (American Heart Association)

Scheduling Requirements

Flexible days

Per Diem: One weekend shift per month; One major Holiday

Essential Functions

The Respiratory Therapist will evaluate and recommend changes in therapy according to the policy and procedure and will consult with Physician and nurses to achieve best practice for maximum therapeutic benefit for patients.

The position acts as a clinical resource person to nursing staff and ancillary personnel to provide appropriate care within guidelines of established standards of care.

Performs other duties assigned by manager and supervisor for the timely operation of the department.
