Position Summary The Operating Room Nurse uses the nursing process to design, coordinate, and deliver patient care for patients undergoing operative procedures. The role may serve as scrub or circulating nurse in various procedures, acts as a role model for nursing students and new nurses, and functions as a Patient Care Coordinator as requested. The nurse will float between Orange and Irvine locations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Design, coordinate, and deliver operative patient care.
Act as scrub or circulating nurse as required.
Serve as a role model to nursing students and new nurses.
Cooperate with team members and assist with patient care coordination.
Float between Orange and Irvine locations as needed.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of six months recent nursing experience in an acute-care perioperative environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, infection control practices, body mechanics, and age-related acuity levels.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Proficiency in scrubbing and circulating in most surgical specialties.
Registered Nurse license.
Basic Life Support education.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center.
Ability to communicate bilingually with patients and families.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNOR) credential.
