SUMMARY Provide outpatient individual, family, and group therapy to adults with behavioral health disorders, adhering to best practice treatment strategies effective for their diagnostic needs. Treatment is provided in a clinic setting. In addition to mood and anxiety disorders, adults may have complicated diagnostic profiles that include trauma, eating disorders, complex medical conditions, cognitive disorders, substance use, and serious mental illness.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Establish positive, trusting rapport with clients.

Maintain current knowledge of diagnostic and treatment strategies for specialized populations; use and seek out clinical information to improve competency.

Conduct intake assessments and required screenings in accordance with standards of practice with clients coming in through open access, hospital discharges, emergency services, and scheduled appointments.

Develop treatment plans that are client and family centered and address clinical needs according to best practices.

Provide general outpatient services including individual, family, and group therapy using best practice strategies.

Conduct crisis assessments of clients at risk of harm to self or others, recommend appropriate services, complete safety plans involving families.

Assess need for pharmacological treatment, refer to GOP prescriber and provide ongoing coordinated care.

Provide psycho‑educational services based on modality, frequency, participant and location specifications.

Increase knowledge of evidence‑based strategies for adults with serious mental illness.

Coordinate care with GOP team members, primary care physicians, and other service providers.

Document collaboratively with client, if possible, in progress notes and/or treatment plan review documents.

Complete assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries according to clinical standards and timelines.

Identify family needs that can be supported through community resources and maintain referral processes.

Identify indicators of abuse and neglect and respond appropriately.

Maintain knowledge of psychiatric medications and work with prescribers to address client needs.

Perform case presentations at clinical meetings and synthesize client needs and treatment response.

Attend meetings and trainings; participate actively.

Participate in supervision as scheduled and may provide clinical supervision to others, in line with licensure.

Work cooperatively with GOP/Community Support team members.

Maintain good work habits; arrive on time and keep required clinical productivity for billable services, including late afternoon and evening hours.

Mentor new clinicians, case managers, and interns.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s Degree in social work, marriage/family counseling, rehabilitation counseling, mental health counseling, psychology, or related field.

Independently licensed (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, licensed PhD).

Experience working with adults who have adjustment, mood, and anxiety disorders and their families using best practice protocols; at least two years providing individual and family therapy.

Knowledge of treatment strategies for complex disorders such as trauma, eating disorders, substance abuse, and serious mental illness.

Flexible schedule enabling evening hours.

Valid driver’s license, insured automobile, and required liability insurance.

Knowledge of community resources, advocacy, and teaching skills.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

PAY RANGE $31.92 - $52.66

Frequently walks, sits, reaches with hands and arms, and climbs. Occasionally stands, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls; taste or smell. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Occasionally works in outside weather conditions. Noise level is usually moderate.

INTERPERSONAL FACTORS AND ETHICS Must appreciate the sensitive/private nature of client information and not access, use, disclose, or request such information unless necessary. Uses and accesses client information only as necessary and in accordance with agency policies and procedures. Compiles all required training and certifications. Observes all agency policies and procedures.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY Ability to communicate effectively with clients, family, supervisors, agency staff, community professionals, and the public. Present information and respond to questions. Complete required training and certifications. Maintain competent communication, grammar, spelling, and legibility. Perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure.
