As a Powertrain Design Engineer, you will use sound engineering principles and a first-principles approach to design, analyze, and improve high-performance mechanical systems. Your work will play a key role in developing new products and enhancing existing components to ensure top performance, reliability, and competitiveness both on and off the track. By combining advanced engineering theory with practical experience, you’ll collaborate across teams to solve complex engine challenges and help drive the future of motorsport technology.
Generate extremely well engineered, creative, cost-effective and manufacturable solutions
Proven engineering abilities in the area of internal combustion engine development including hardware, calibration and testing
Excellent understanding of common manufacturing methods and application
Execution of new product or product update activities from start to finish
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective resource planning and seamless coordination of work activities.
Optimize components for various attributes, including performance, mass, packaging, quality, benchmarking, geometry creation and functional analysis
Ensure Part Drawings comply with GD&T standards
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
A passion for motorsports and high performance engines
Minimum 2years of experience working in an Internal Combustion Engine focused engineering capacity
Proficient in Solidworks
Demonstrated innovative thought process
Honest individual with determination and motivation to meet tight deadlines
High Mechanical aptitude/capability
Proficient in GD&T
Excellent communication skills with a team player mentality
Desired Qualifications
Experience as a member or leader of a collegiate FSAE or Baja engine/powertrain subteam
A ‘maker’ mentality – interested in fabrication, innovative designs, and intuition for high performance
Knowledgeable about the culture and commitment of racing and motorsports
