Role Overview What does this role look like? Want to join a great team where you can have an immediate impact across the enterprise? The Lockheed Martin Space Operations team is where you want to be! The Operations organization is comprised of more than 6,000 dedicated professionals deployed to company and customer sites throughout the country. Operations touches all Space programs and products – managing our supply chain; producing, assembling, testing and transporting mission critical hardware; ensuring safety, quality and security; integrating enterprise plans; maintaining and improving our facilities; while ensuring program performance. All of the essential elements that ultimately result in the delivery of spacecraft, missiles and instruments to our customers. Every day, the work we do makes a difference. With a focus on productivity, this role will support Digital Transformation efforts targeted toward streamlining existing processes, optimizing cycle times, reducing errors, reducing cost, and improving customer satisfaction as identified by the business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Perform modeling, simulation, and analysis in a discrete event simulation software on a variety of space‑based operations ranging from manufacturing facilities to satellite assembly.
Regularly engage with internal stakeholders to understand their analysis needs.
Deploy and support use of modeling and simulation to the facility level.
Conduct “what if” scenarios, and identify capacity constraints and bottlenecks.
Manage project statuses and collaborate with team members to complete tasks.
Work closely with production leadership to provide actionable insights.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in STEM field, from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
2+ years of professional experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Background in data analytics.
You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Desired Skills
2+ years of professional experience.
Strong Math/Statistics background.
Experience in training/teaching others.
Experience leading projects for a team.
Capability to proactively work through difficult technical problems.
Proven ability to gather technical data from frontline staff and present findings to senior leadership.
Proficiency in Simio, Arena, FlexSim, or other Discrete Event Simulation Software.
Possess effective relationship‑building skills with peers, leadership and stakeholders.
Demonstrated exceptional strategic communication skills, both written, verbal, and presentation, to effectively communicate business cases to all levels of peers and stakeholders, as well as program executives, with an ability to persuade and motivate action.
