GENERAL FUNCTION
The Licensed Optician creates exceptional value in the lives of customers by delivering Signature Customer Experiences. Ensures customers are always delighted by performing the key steps of our selling model. Develops the optical skills of others and creates an effective learning environment.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Conveys a commitment to providing unsurpassed Customer Service by performing the following Sales and Service Process steps.
Execute our CEE Service Model through Connect, Explore and Exceed.
Support problem solving and troubleshooting.
Engage patients, customers, and fellow associates with use of our technology.
Deliver the Diamond Service Principals and Service Vision.
Apply LensCrafters Advantages and set tone for customer service.
Anticipate problems before they occur and develop long‑term solutions.
Assists customers in selecting frames and lenses that suit lifestyle, Rx and price needs.
Show patience and courtesy with customers; find answers to unfamiliar questions.
Assist co‑workers with questions or problems.
Lead in optical acumen, providing a voice for associates.
Educate customers on guarantees and services (earwear care tips, adjustments, follow‑up, protection plans, warranties).
Perform accurate measurements, fitting and adjusting eyewear.
Ensure finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements.
Strive to achieve “Exceptional Results” on LensCrafters’ annual CEI/Functional Skills.
Operate the Point of Sale terminal with accuracy and attention to detail.
Collect proper payment following security procedures.
Proficient in Order Tracker for “Ready When Promised” orders.
Maintain store appearance and visual displays according to planograms.
Foster a positive Store Manager/Macys Host relationship to grow business and customer satisfaction.
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
State licensure or certification as an optician.
Optical dispensing experience.
Knowledge of optical theory and merchandise.
Knowledge of inventory management systems.
Strong communicator and listener.
Awareness of current fashion trends.
Sales skills – ability to use an iPad/tablet.
Comfortable using technology to engage patients, customers, and associates.
Preferred Qualifications
Actively studying LensCrafters Quality, Fitting and Adjusting Program.
Previous customer service and retail experience.
Pay Range: $28.66 – $38.27 per hour. Bonus and commission available. Benefits may include health care, retirement savings, paid time off/vacation, and employee discounts.
