Summary Echo Cardiology department seeks a Cardiac Sonographer to perform high quality studies including transthoracic echo, transesophageal, Definity contrast, saline bubble study, and stress echo. Analysis and evaluation of all studies prepared by the Sonographer will result in a preliminary report sent to interpreting Cardiologist. This is a heart and vascular hospital with 5 ICUs, one being Newborn ICU; proficiency in pediatrics is a plus. This position qualifies for a $15,000 commitment incentive paid over a three‑year work commitment.

Hours: Friday–Sunday

Responsibilities

Demonstrate competence in delivering pre‑procedure and post‑procedure patient care, including patient assessment, emergency cardiac care (CPR required), and assisting with post‑procedure transport.

Ensure equipment is calibrated and properly maintained daily; perform and record all equipment maintenance and quality assurance monitoring; troubleshoot issues and report to supervisor or biomedical engineering.

Generate ultrasound images of the heart and/or vascular structures; perform advanced cardiac ultrasound studies in patients with complex conditions and multiple study types.

Perform vascular studies and real‑time readings/reports in the operating room for invasive and non‑invasive vascular procedures.

Perform studies for inpatient neonatal/NICU and pediatric patients.

May perform staff training and education; serve as subject matter expert and resource to other cardiovascular sonographers.

Monitor and record patient information, maintain report storage and data systems; compile and enter data necessary for charge entry and prepare reports; retrieve stored information and reports from the automated storage system.

Prepare procedure room and equipment for daily use and ensure timely and efficient room preparation between procedures.

Respond independently to on‑call needs for emergent procedures.

Education Requirements

Associate’s degree in Sonography, Radiology or a related field within 3 months of hire, OR completion of a twelve‑month ultrasound program within 3 months of hire.

Licensure/Certification Requirements

Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or registry eligible and become registered within one year from date of hire. Must maintain registry status and continuing education requirements annually. RDCS or RCS‑ Preferred.

Professional Experience Requirements

One year minimum experience in acute hospital setting.
