clinic at 901 West 38th Street. The clinic’s typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with no weekends or holidays. This position will be either a level 1 or Senior based on candidate work experience.

What does the Registered Nurse do? Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental differences in the patient population, including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and the elderly. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to assess and manage patient/family needs. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities

Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.

Assess health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history.

Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.

Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.

Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.

Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record information in the patient chart.

Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals, and future appointments for patients.

Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient’s chart.

As necessary, facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.

Assist patients in locating available community resources.

Interprofessional collaboration.

Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.

Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.

Willing to consider an entry, mid, or senior level candidate.

Current RN state license in the practicing state.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Working Conditions The work environment includes exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Physical Requirements Requires full range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods, occasional lifting and carrying items up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
