Oncology RN Sr.- Tyler Location: Tyler, TX.

Position: Full-time, Monday–Friday 8:30 am–5:00 pm, no weekends, calls or major holidays.

Overview Texas Oncology is seeking a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Medical Oncology Department at the Tyler location. Texas Oncology is the largest community oncology provider in the country. The RN will provide professional nursing care, adhere to national and company standards, and participate in quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.

Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history.

Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.

Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.

Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.

Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record information in the patient chart.

Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests, procedures, referrals and future appointments.

Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient’s chart.

Facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team, coordinating services related to patient care.

Assist patients in locating available community resources.

Interprofessional collaboration.

Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education (BSN preferred).

Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.

Willing to consider entry, mid, or senior level candidate.

Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Physical Requirements Requires full range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing and walking for extensive periods, occasional lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs, corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
