Nursing students preparing to graduate are welcome to apply! We offer Nurse Graduate roles that allow a new graduate nurse to begin working (if desired) after the final transcript is received, with an expectation to become licensed within 6 months of starting employment.
Overview Works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and the Director and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating the total nursing care of assigned patients. The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. Responsible for supervising and delegating non‑professional personnel working directly with her/him to ensure optimum patient care. Must demonstrate competence in dealing with age‑related needs of the specific patient populations. Works under the direction of leadership and a multi‑disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive range of services or clinical care associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health system and facility goals and strategic plans.
What You Will Do
Demonstrate ability to assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs by applying standards of practice as it relates to the specialty or patient population. Demonstrate unit‑specific competencies and equipment training, see checklists.
Partner with patients and their families to develop, implement and evaluate a plan of care, treatments and procedures that contribute to physiological and psychosocial outcomes of the patient. Incorporate evidence‑based standards of practice and collaborate with interdisciplinary team in care coordination. Facilitate safe patient transition to the next level of care as part of the plan of care.
Demonstrate a sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput to ensure patient receives consistent, competent and ethical care. Focus on quality outcomes of patient when addressing service needs to ensure evidence‑based quality care of patient.
Demonstrate understanding of diverse patient care populations. Modify education method to ensure patient/family understanding. Assume responsibility to coordinate and deliver individualized patient education and discharge‑specific education to family/caregivers. Evaluate for comprehension and document.
Accurately complete all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
Delegate and prioritize tasks appropriately to facilitate quality patient care and service excellence to meet the patient’s care needs. Recognize and respond to emergency situations. Evaluate resources and support needed and use systems to ensure needs are met.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree, Nursing (Preferred)
Program Graduate, Registered Nurse (Required)
Experience
1 year Staff Nurse (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
Registered Nurse (RN) – State Department of Health Professionals (Required)
CPR/BLS Certification – American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required)
