Job Summary As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high‑quality care that truly impacts our patients' well‑being and recovery. Responsibilities

Perform admission and ongoing assessment of patients’ conditions, providing nursing care that meets the patient’s physical, psychological and spiritual needs and notifying the doctor of changes requiring attention.

Design, direct, evaluate, and document the plan of care, patient/family teaching, and the transition of care plan to include a safe appropriate level of care discharge. Work with other clinical disciplines to meet specialized patient care and discharge needs.

Prepare patients physically, psychologically, and spiritually for treatments, surgeries and diagnostic studies to help reduce patient anxiety. Know patients' conditions and report significant changes to the Charge Nurse, Team Leader, and/or physician.

Implement patient safety initiatives and protocols, including medication safety practices, physician orders, and consult notifications.

Reassess patients at appropriate intervals following interventions, notifying the physician as necessary to modify interventions and adjusting nursing care to meet emerging needs.

Give and receive report using Bedside Shift Report, including family participation, to provide continuity of patient care.

Maintain patient and work environment to maximize safe working space, promptly removing used and soiled equipment, linen, etc., to appropriate locations.

Provide care to 4-6 patients per shift and administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, and chart with timely documentation.

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals such as social work, care coordination, physical therapy, occupational therapy, laboratory, respiratory therapy and imaging.

Work in a Nursing Surgical Floor caring for med‑surg telemetry patients, specializing in abdominal surgery including bariatrics.

Support a unit of 30 beds with an RN to patient ratio of 1:5.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in Nursing or Diploma; at least one (1) year of RN experience, upon hire.

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) within 2 years from date of hire; current employees grandfathered before July 2020.

Demonstrated competence in Registered Nurse I performance expectations or meets experience requirements upon hire.

Registered Nurse license in Texas, upon hire.

Basic Life Support – CPR within 14 days, upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s of Nursing, upon hire.
