Licensed Practical Nurse - Nephrology at Eastowne
Join UNC Health as a Licensed Practical Nurse in our Nephrology department at Eastowne. Commitment Incentive $10,000 total, paid to the nurse every six (6) months during a three (3) year work commitment.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the development and maintenance of individualized, goal‑oriented care plans and collaborate with other health professionals to ensure the patient/caregiver needs are met.
Observe, assess, document, and report patient response to treatments and therapies; adjust priorities of care based on patient/caregiver needs.
Participate in unit, service, and departmental enrichment activities, including committees, CQI activities, and orientation/education of staff.
Provide treatments and therapies such as respiratory, oral/NG/NT suctioning, tracheostomy care, medication administration, cardiac monitor observation, respirator management, intravenous infusions, point‑of‑care testing, routine lab work, catheter care, sterile dressing changes, and patient/caregiver teaching.
Assist patients and families during admission, discharge, and overall clinical experience.
Support patients and families, de‑escalate frightened or potentially aggressive patients, and facilitate age‑appropriate coping strategies.
Education Requirements
Graduation from a state‑accredited practical nurse education program.
Licensure/Certification Requirements
Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of North Carolina.
Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).
Professional Experience Requirements
No prior experience required.
