Job Duties include:
Answering incoming live calls for very busy Cardiology department using nursing judgement to triage appropriately based upon IU Health and departmental protocols for 24 Cardiology providers. Calling patients to discuss abnormal test results and provide physician direction. Triaging in office patient nurse visits (medication questions, site checks, etc.) May occasionally be asked to assist in other departments within the multi-Specialty practice when staffing needs arise. Serve as a patient advocate in communications between patient and physician. Requirements
Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred. Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license. Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies. May require ability to assess patients without face-to-face interaction. Requires awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse. We are an equal opportunity employer.
