About The Adult & Family Service Program

The Adult and Family Services (AFS) Therapy Program is ReDiscover’s outpatient therapy department, offering clinicians the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families across the community. Our team supports clients of all ages, backgrounds, and needs—including those who may have struggled to access care elsewhere. Working in AFS means being part of a collaborative, mission‑driven environment where clinicians can apply their skills in diverse ways, continue growing professionally, and see the lasting impact of their work every day.

What You’ll Do

Evaluate client’s mental health condition based on the review of client information, including bio‑psycho‑social assessments, psychological evaluation, and diagnostics. Collect information through interviews, observations, and tests. Prepare and maintain treatment records and reports.

Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience, knowledge, and understanding of the client’s information and history. Act as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.

Counsel clients, individually and in group sessions specific to the program format, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, and making changes. Maintain confidentiality of records relating to client’s treatment.

Work within an interdisciplinary team to develop treatment plans for the client(s) being served.

Requirements Of The Position

Availability to work a full‑time schedule, Monday to Friday – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; 40‑hour work week.

Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a social science field (as defined by the Department of Mental Health).

Active clinical license in the State of Missouri (Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)).

Active provisional licensure in State of Missouri (PLPC, LMSW, or MFT) may be considered.

Two (2) years of experience in direct service provision in a mental health setting.

Working knowledge of mental illness and substance use disorders.

Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus.

Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.

Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as the use of email.
