Pediatric CT / Xray Tech Full Time Rotate
Up to $15,000 Sign on Bonus, based on relevant experience.
Children’s Hospital of Michigan is an international leader in pediatric and adolescent medicine, offering specialized services in general, thoracic, reconstructive, and cardiovascular surgery. The hospital’s imaging technology, designed specifically for children, provides advanced diagnostic services, including Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and MRI. It features a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and a dedicated pediatric burn center, supported by experts in pediatric critical care, rehabilitation, neonatal and perinatal medicine.
Job Description Under general supervision and following established policies, you will perform diagnostic exams using CT, MRI, Interventional Radiology, and Cardiology equipment. Responsibilities include verifying patient identity, reviewing records for exam appropriateness, interviewing patients to obtain or update medical history, assessing risk factors (medications, pregnancy, psychological indicators), explaining procedures and risks, preparing equipment, acquiring appropriate images, reviewing images and making initial observations, documenting deviations from protocols, communicating data to radiologists, recognizing and responding to medical emergencies, providing post‑care instructions, participating in process improvement activities, and providing education to residents and new staff.
Qualifications
Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (RT), Vascular‑Interventional Radiography (VI) or Cardiovascular‑Interventional (CV).
Must have or complete AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) training by the end of the orientation period.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire for adult settings; or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 1 year of hire for cardiology settings.
At least one year of experience as an ARRT Radiologic Technologist.
