Shift:
Weekend Nights (Fri-Sun) 7p-7a, FT 36hrs
Overview:
Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is searching for an experienced RN to join the team in the Emergency Department, a 41‑bed Level III Trauma Center with dedicated psychiatric and stroke services. The RN will provide competent nursing care using critical thinking, assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
Education & Certification
ADN required, BSN or higher preferred.
Virginia or compact multistate RN license in good standing.
BLS required; TNCC preferred.
Experience
RN experienced in a hospital setting.
RN experience in the ED highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities The RN will:
Perform nursing assessments and develop care plans.
Administer medications and monitor patient response.
Collaborate with ED team to coordinate acute care.
Document patient care and maintain accurate records.
Participate in quality improvement and evidence‑based practice initiatives.
