Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Respiratory Services - Full Time 12 Hour Days (Non-Exempt)

Responsibilities
Diagnose and treat chronic respiratory diseases; prescribe medications; advise patients on illness management.
Set up and operate respiratory care equipment under direct supervision and physician direction.
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures: oxygen therapy, chest physiotherapy, hyperinflation therapy, aerosol therapy, nebulizer treatments.
Conduct arterial blood gas draws and analysis.
Assist physicians with bedside bronchoscopy.
Manage ventilators and participate in the interdisciplinary care plan.
Perform CPR as part of the code‑blue team.
Maintain a clean work area and adhere to infection control standards.
Administer and monitor nitric oxide (UH only).
Participate in patient transport.
Document patient charting and adhere to charging/billing procedures.
Operate and monitor non‑invasive monitoring devices.
Assess patient response to therapy and make recommendations to physicians and the healthcare team.
Communicate workload changes with the Lead RCP.
Perform additional tasks designated by the Director or Manager.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Excellent diagnostic, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient‑service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Care.
1–2 years of experience in acute‑care respiratory care, including arterial blood gas analysis, oxygen therapy, chest physiotherapy, and related procedures.
Required Licenses & Certifications
Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) – CA DCA.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – NBRC.
Basic Life Support (BLS), Healthcare Provider level.
Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) – required within LA City.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – preferred.
