Emergency Dept Registered Nurse Nts – Medical City Dallas
Location: Dallas, TX. Salary: $54,000 – $86,000 (Full-time, Night shift 7pm-7am).
Job Summary The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in our emergency department. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values.
Responsibilities
Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, treatment plan, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
Teaches patients/families/caregivers about non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self‑management.
Qualifications
PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support – must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
Trauma Nursing Core Course – must be obtained within 1 year.
Registered Nurse (RN) credential.
Associate Degree or BSN (BSN required w/ 12‑month enrollment and 24‑month completion for Magnet Hospital).
Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ACLS Instructor – must be obtained within 90 days.
Basic Cardiac Life Support or BCLS Instructor – must be obtained within 30 days.
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or related training – must be obtained within 1 year.
Minimum 1 year Emergency RN experience.
Schedule Full‑Time Nights 7pm – 7am. Eligible for a $15,000 sign‑on bonus for qualified candidates.
