Pay Range This part‑time position (8 hours per week) offers a monthly salary range of $917.20 to $1127.80.

Job Description & Duties Under direction in the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, duties include:

Planning, organizing, supervising, and assisting with the preparation, cooking, and serving of food to residents and employees in a small state correctional culinary program.

Leading a shift and supervising a crew in a medium‑sized state correctional culinary program.

Supervising a large crew in a large correctional culinary program; maintaining culinary equipment, supplies, and work areas; instructing culinary workers; maintaining order and supervising inmates; protecting safety of persons and property.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of experience in the California state service performing the duties of a Cook Specialist II (Correctional Facility) OR

Two years of experience in a supervisory capacity over cooks and other food service workers, responsible for supervising and assisting with the preparation, cooking, and serving of various food items.

Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.

Note: A Training and Development (T&D) assignment will not be considered at this time.
