Job Summary
Seasonal Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift – 32‑week season, PRN, 4 week schedule, 72 hrs per pay period.
Rate: $52/HR.
Contract valid through 4/4/2026.
Responsibilities Staff Respiratory Therapists are responsible for demonstrating proficiency in all modalities of Respiratory Care, executing assignments, and ensuring compliance with hospital and respiratory policies.
May work with Respiratory Students in the clinical care setting.
Qualifications
Graduated from an accredited school for Respiratory Care, recognized by the NBRC.
One year experience in Respiratory Care with documented training in NICU and/or Pediatrics.
CRT, RRT by NBRC upon hire.
Licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider required.
ACLS preferred (facility–based).
Program Requirements
All seasonal RNs must work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period.
Must be available to float to another facility within a close geography for emergent staffing needs.
Four weekend shifts required each 4‑week schedule period.
Two holiday shifts required during the 32‑week period.
Seasonal staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call‑off; no guaranteed hours.
Seasonal staff are not eligible for benefits except 401(k) and retirement contribution per PRN policy.
Seasonal staff are not eligible for extra shift bonuses (D1/CND or D2/ECD).
Registered Nurses in the seasonal program must pass the clinical competency evaluation.
Current employees are not eligible to join the seasonal program for 2025‑26.
Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program.
Shifts may vary based on departmental needs.
