Job Overview Full‑Time Nurse Practitioner to support the Hudson site. Under physician direction, responsible for planning, evaluating, delivering patient care, emphasizing preventive health measures and patient education. Additional duties as assigned. Salary range $154,876.00 – $162,385.60 with $3,500 sign‑on bonus.
Responsibilities
Takes histories, performs physical examinations, gives immunizations (as necessary) and does patient education and counseling.
Orders appropriate lab work, draws blood for lab work if needed, and performs some lab tests such as wet prep microscopic exams.
Prescribes treatment for minor illnesses, and consults with physician regarding medication, chronic illness and referrals when appropriate.
Maintains legible and appropriate documentation and reviews records periodically. Does follow‑up of abnormal pap smears and reportable STDs.
Attends case conferences involving patients.
Attends continuing education programs to increase skills and knowledge.
Attends provider meetings and participates in quality improvement programs and team assignments.
Identifies and categorizes each patient’s age‑specific grouping of needs, such as infants, adolescents, or geriatric patients.
Follows OSHA standards of infection control under CDC guidelines endorsed by department, organization, and overseen by Infection Control Officer.
Provides safe and successful performance, including meeting productivity, quality and patient satisfaction standards.
Qualifications
Education: Master's Degree in Nursing or related field.
Experience: 5–8 years of health‑care practice; preference for 8+ years and 4 years of business office experience in a large medical practice.
Licensure: Valid Nurse Practitioner license in New York State and CPR/BLS certification.
Skills & Knowledge: Knowledge of diagnostic and treatment procedures for nurse practitioners; competence in health‑care delivery; ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary team; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
