Position Summary Assists physicians in interventional procedures and provides diagnostic aid in interventional radiology and cardiac cath lab. Performs diagnostic exams, angiography, neuro‑interventional, and other invasive procedures. Maintains sterile field, monitors contrast reactions, and operates specialized imaging equipment.
Responsibilities
Assist physicians in interventional procedures.
Perform diagnostic exams in interventional radiology and cardiac cath lab.
Prepare patients, apply contrast, and monitor for reactions.
Maintain aseptic systems and sterilized equipment.
Operate and troubleshoot specialized imaging equipment.
Document patient information, procedure notes, and equipment status.
Communicate with patients, families, and cross‑functional staff.
Adhere to radiation safety protocols and quality assurance measures.
Respond to emergency situations per department policies.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program or registered cardiovascular invasive specialist program.
Minimum two (2) years experience in a cardiac cath lab for RCIS‑certified individuals or in cath lab or interventional radiology units for ARRT.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA accepted).
State of Nevada license in Radiology.
Registered in Radiography (ARRT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCES).
Knowledge of radiation protocols, equipment, anatomy, contrast use, aseptic technique, quality assurance, infection control, hazardous materials handling, and hospital safety practices.
Proficiency with computers and imaging software.
Physical Requirements:
Stamina to stand or walk for extended periods, lift up to 100 lbs occasionally, and 20‑50 lbs frequently. Vision necessary to read printed materials and computer screens; hearing and speech required for communication. Reasonable accommodations available.
