Overview Texas Oncology is looking for an Infusion Registered Nurse Sr (RN) to join our team at Longview. This PRN (As needed) position has no weekends, call, or major holidays. Typical hours are M‑F from 8:30 a‑m to 5 p.

Role Summary Under minimal supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care for patients, adheres to national and company standards, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, and supports the US Oncology Compliance Program.

Responsibilities

Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.

Assess health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history.

Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.

Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.

Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.

Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart.

Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments for patients.

Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient's chart.

Facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.

Assist patients in locating available community resources.

Inter‑professional collaboration.

Acts as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.

RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

3–5 years nursing experience.

Working Conditions The work environment is typical of an oncology/hematology clinic. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and medical preparations is possible.

Physical Requirements Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Must stand and walk for extensive periods, occasionally lift and carry items up to 40 lbs., and have corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
