Overview The Division of Infectious Diseases (ID) in the Department of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine seeks applicants for a full‑time (1.0 FTE) Infectious Disease clinical educator position at the Associate Professor or Full Professor, non‑tenure‑track level. The position is anticipated to start in March 2026.

Responsibilities The successful candidate will provide inpatient consultative services and ambulatory care for patients representing the full spectrum of general and surgical infectious diseases primarily at our affiliated community‑based hospital systems. They will demonstrate expertise in evidence‑based practice, engage in clinical, teaching, and research activities, and may take on leadership responsibilities including mentoring and development of faculty members. The position includes expansion of the UMB‑NIH incubator portfolio for early‑career faculty and assistance with CIHEB to expand global health research, including education, antibiotic stewardship, and hospital epidemiology.

Qualifications

MD or DO, board‑eligible/board‑certified in Infectious Diseases.

At least 10 years of ID faculty or fellow mentoring experience.

Prior leadership experience preferred.

Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Maryland.

Demonstrated clinical expertise in the care of infectious disease patients.

Compensation The expected salary range for Associate Professors is $190,653 (min) to $283,634 (max). Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
