Shift 1 – 2 pm to 10:30 pm ; Shift 2 – 10 pm to 6:30 am
Salary:
$105,000 – $120,000 per year (base pay)

Position Summary:
The Anatomic Pathology Supervisor has overall responsibility for planning, coordination, evaluation, and supervision of all technical and operational activities and personnel in the Anatomic Pathology department. The supervisor ensures quality assurance, safety, and accreditation compliance, and oversees projects delegated by the Director of Laboratory Operations or Medical Laboratory Director.
Core Responsibilities
Day‑to‑day operation of the Anatomic Pathology laboratory and supervision of technical and support staff
Initiate and monitor quality control and assurance programs; assure compliance with regulations and document corrective actions
Set standards, policies, and guidelines for efficient laboratory management
Ensure staff training and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and competency checklists
Oversee, plan, and prepare for inspections
Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures to reflect current processes
Set department objectives and performance goals; monitor personnel and resource utilization; adjust staffing as needed
Drive personnel management activities: conduct interviews, hire, train, coach, and develop employees
Conduct performance appraisals, document deficiencies, develop improvement plans, and counsel employees
Monitor laboratory work performance; review monthly statistics and budget reports; adjust staffing levels accordingly
Ensure a safe working environment and safe work practices
Maintain advanced knowledge of general and specialty requirements within CAP/CLIA/NYS institutions
Accountable for 24‑hour operation, including emergency response and attendance at outside‑of‑hour meetings when required
Experience, Education and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences with at least 1 year of experience/training in the assigned specialty
Master’s Degree (MA or MS) with at least 4 years of laboratory experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a clinical laboratory with a doctoral‑level director
Preferred: 6+ years in high‑complexity histology; experience as HTL III or Lead Histotechnologist preferred
National certification: HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP)
Florida: Current state supervisor license and technologist license for laboratory testing
