JOB DESCRIPTION
Assistant Manager of Clinical Pharmacy
oversees and supports clinical pharmacy services, ensuring compliance with regulatory, organizational, and departmental standards. Provides clinical leadership by managing pharmacy programs, coordinating education, and collaborating with providers to optimize medication therapy and patient care.
General Responsibilities
Ensure readiness with regulatory agencies and compliance with hospital policies.
Maintain and submit documentation in a timely manner.
Develop policy, procedure, guidelines to meet regulatory and best standards.
Communicate and build team competencies for clinical pharmacy.
Supervise clinical pharmacy team and services.
Conduct performance reviews and develop team members. \ Participate in multi-disciplinary committees and meetings.
Work cross campus to improve clinical pharmacy services.
Support pharmacist-in-charge and assist team members flexibly.
Collaborate with pharmacy leadership team to assist departmental initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities
Coordinate clinical and educational services, recommend, implement, or monitor programs.
Educate team members.
Prepare monographs and comparative analyses for drug formulary.
Serve as liaison to Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
Communicate medication issues outside department.
Collaborate on issue resolution and alternatives.
Manage and oversee clinical pharmacy programs and services.
Provide clinical leadership and support evidence-based practices.
Assist in supervising clinical pharmacists and pharmacy residents.
Organize and deliver clinical training and education for pharmacy staff.
Assist in developing quality improvement initiatives related to clinical pharmacy services.
Monitor clinical performance metrics and outcomes.
Identify opportunities for improvement implementing evidence-based practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduated from accredited school of pharmacy.
Current NJ Board of Pharmacy license.
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred.
PGY1 pharmacy residency or 3+ years clinical pharmacy experience in hospital.
Experience in research activities preferred.
Board certification in pharmacotherapy (BCPS).
