Job Summary:
As a Nursing Instructor, you will conduct college classes for undergraduate students and perform related duties as required.

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Recent professional nursing clinical experience.
Active, unencumbered Tennessee or multistate compact RN or APRN license.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS or CPR certification.
Meet the standards required by the Tennessee State Board of Regents and SACSCOC and may be required to achieve additional credentials in the future.
Essential Job Functions
Fulfill all instructional requirements mandated by Cleveland State Community College and the Tennessee Board of Regents.
Utilize appropriate instructional materials and methods.
Maintain currency in instructional field and teaching methodology.
Devote a minimum of 37.5 hours per week, maintain appropriate office hours, and secure approval for any commitments that might affect employment.
Be accessible to students for advisement, academic help, and assistance depending on instructional format.
Teach during all operational hours of the college on‑ or off‑campus when needed.
Participate in institutional and academic unit meetings.
Maintain and safeguard all necessary records and report grades periodically as prescribed by the Registrar.
Comply with Cleveland State Community College and Tennessee Board of Regents guidelines and policies.
Participate in periodic evaluations.
Support and participate in recruitment and retention efforts of the college.
Non‑Essential Functions (5%)
Perform public service in the community as defined by the institution’s role and mission.
Promote and serve as advisor to campus clubs, student groups, or other related student activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Responsibilities
Possess adequate teaching skills and perform normal duties expected of a college‑level teacher.
Maintain adequate stock levels of supplies for laboratory use where applicable.
Oversee laboratory and classroom safety.
Exhibit knowledge of the comprehensive community college concept.
Exhibit effective interpersonal skills.
Work Activities & Equipment Work requires the use of personal computers, printers, scanners, and presentation technology (instructional media). The incumbent must exhibit competency in all training equipment specifically related to the instructor’s discipline.
Job Location The primary workplace is the Health and Science Building at Cleveland State Community College. Occasional travel to off‑campus instructional sites within the college’s five‑county service area may be required. The weekly work schedule will be determined by program and course needs and may vary from day to day; some evening hours may also be necessary.
