Licensed Mental Health Counselor – Justice‑Involved Behavioral Health Clinician
Join UnityPoint Health as a Justice‑Involved Behavioral Health Clinician. You’ll provide community‑based mental health assessments, crisis intervention, and consultation for clients connected by hospitals, first responders, jails, attorneys, and community programs.
Shift: Monday‑Friday; 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Salary: $30.45 – $45.67 /hr Location: Scott County and Muscatine County, IA

Responsibilities
Receives referrals from hospitals, first responders, jails, attorneys, mobile crisis outreach, community services, CCBHC services and other community sources.
Provides direct community‑based mental health assessments, intervention, and consultation to individuals identified by the court system as in need of a potential involuntary commitment.
Evaluates each client for diagnosis and recommends appropriate service, including interviewing client and accompanying family or friends and providing crisis intervention.
Interacts with patients, family, and support systems to reduce barriers and promote progression of care, providing assessment, counseling, information and referral, advocacy services, and other resource assistance as indicated.
Provides direct mental health services to identified individuals incarcerated within a county jail in the service region.
Provides assistance with linkage to necessary resources in the community (entitlements, employers, housing, etc.).
Qualifications Education:
Requires a master’s degree in a behavioral healthcare services related field.
License(s)/Certification(s):
Provisional or independent license in both Illinois and Iowa:
LMSW – Licensed Master Social Worker (Provisional License for IA)
LSW – Licensed Social Worker (Provisional License for IL)
LCSW – Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Independent License for IL)
LISW – Licensed Independent Social Worker (Independent License in IA)
Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work‑related reasons.
